Endeavor's final flight from Kennedy Space Center.
Taken on Canaveral National Seashore, these contrails form an X just opposite launch pad 39.
While this may look like a lighthouse, it's actually a rocket at the Kennedy Space Center rocket garden.
One of many rockets at Kennedy Space Center's rocket garden. It's quite a walk through history and to stand so close to them is impressive.
This is looking up at the front of the Vehicle Assembly Building at Kennedy Space Center. The VAB building is where rockets and the space shuttle were assembled prior to launch. The space shuttle would be rolled in on it's wheels, then lifted horizontally and mated to the rocket boosters and fuel tank.
Look up inside the vehicle assembly building & you get a sense of just how large it is. It is amazing all the history contained inside this building.
A tough shot to capture in the afternoon shot, but it's about the story not so much the picture. This is launch pad 39A the site where all manned space flights left for space. From the Saturn V to the Space Shuttle, this is where they were launched.
How would you like to fly this with 2 other friends? Yeah, it's a little tight in there, but it did it's job as needed.
