Artistic

As you peruse my sight, you'll find most of my photos convey a sense of place. These photos convey more of an artistic side. With exception of the girl with the umbrella, all the photos were captured through the camera. I did not use post processing software to add/delete objects or change the scene. Most of the photos were intently staged and others (like the water droplets) I just waited for the perfect time.

  • Experimenting with high contrast images, I came up with this idea. I backlit the blue Iphone cover with a blue LED light & played a video I took at the ocean earlier that day. The kitchen counter provided the perfect reflective surface. <br />
Low light images often require several takes to finally have a good image, but it's a lot of fun to pull it all together.

  • I finally decided to do a photoassignment for smoke photography. Everyone noted that it was very difficult and it was harder than expected. Like most things though, a little help & perseverance made it work. This was shot using a flashlight from the side to light the smoke.

  • This is a fun view of a monorail leaving Disney's Contemporary Resort. There is a patio where you walk right under the track & watch them. Anything mechanical usually captivates my attention so I spent close to 1/2 an hour or so taking different shots and watching them go. I'm easily entertained.....

  • It's usually too bright to take moon pictures, but an eclipse provides the perfect filter. Here you can see the moon's diverse features.

  • Usually when taking pictures, you try to keep objects out of the picture. In this case, it was intentional. I had to wait a bit for the sun line up correctly, but it eventually worked. That black spot on the lower, left side of the mast is an Osprey looking for dinner.
