While exploring an unknown bike trail, we came across a group of Otters frolicking in the water. We watched them and they us.Once they realized we were just watching, they went about their business.
One ran onto the dirt trail, vigorously rolled around till he was completely dusty and then ran back into the water.
We live on land & go in the water to get clean; they live in the water & roll in the dirt to get clean. Interesting......
This is one huge toad!! I believe it's the infamous Bufo toad which is poisonous to pets. Note the beautiful lizard type skin behind those big eyes.
Thanks to a watchful park ranger, we were able to see this napping baby deer. It was lying in a grassy area right out in the open. The grass was tall enough though that you wouldn't see it unless you knew it was there. Hiding in plain sight.
