If you're visiting Florida, it's easy to dismiss it as just a flat, mosquito invested land mass. Upon closer inspection, you'll find a wealth of natural beauty that often requires a little effort to find.

This is obviously a water turtle, but I don't know the exact species. The moss covered rocks highlighted by the sun, provide an interesting backdrop to climb over.
I've rescued numerous land & water turtles from the road ways and there is a difference. Land turtles hide in their shells when you pick them up. Water turtles have long necks and can reach around and try to bite you. They don't know you're trying to help, but seeing them wander off into the grass away from the road is worth it.
It's a tree, it's a giraffe...Note the absence of the bark on the trees. Looking at the giraffe, we can guess where it went.
Several of the herd took off running and you would think being tall & lankly they'd be awkward. Quite the opposite!, they were incredibly graceful.
The next 3 pictures are of Moose in Estes Park Colorado. These were spotted on a hike opposite Bear lake. Our hosts said it was unusual to see moose on that side of the mountain, but that was encouraging.
As you can see here, they've spotted me and are deciding their next move.
