This manmade barrier provides creates the tidal pool which allows the mangroves safe haven to grow roots. Various aquatic life take enjoy the calm, clear waters of the tidal pool. We land dwellers, enjoy the boardwalk and looking into the pools & river.

We were attempting to outrun a storm on foot. Probably would've been easier if I wasn't stopping to take pictures. The heavens opened about 1000 feet from the car which got us thoroughly wet, but much better than being exposed out here.
